Jamie Skeen scored 15 points as Virginia Commonwealth held off Tulane 70-67 on Saturday.

The Rams (7-3) shot 63.6 percent from the field in the first half (14 of 22), hitting 4 of 11 3-pointers, en route to a 40-27 halftime lead.

With Virginia Commonwealth ahead 61-48 with 6:26 left, the Green Wave (6-3) went on a 13-2 run to make it 63-61 with 2:54 left. Tulane got within a basket twice more, the last time at 69-67 with 6 seconds left.

Brandon Rozzell then hit one of two foul shots to give the Rams a 70-67 lead with 4.1 seconds to go. Kendall Timmons' 3-point attempt to tie the game bounced out at the buzzer.

Skeen shot 6 of 11 from the field and made 3 of 4 free throws while also grabbing six rebounds. Bradford Burgess added 10 points for the Rams.

Timmons led the Green Wave with 16 points, including 12 in the second half, while Aaron Holmes added 14 points.
