Virginia Commonwealth blew open a close game in the second half and defeated South Florida 69-46 on Wednesday night.

Troy Daniels came off the bench to score 17 points to lead the Rams (4-3), who have won three of their past four. Radford Burgess added 15 points, Darius Theus had 13 and Rob Brandenburg 10 for VCU.

The game was tied 28-28 at halftime and the Rams opened the second half on a 16-3 run for a 44-31 lead with 12:21 remaining. The run was capped by a 3-pointer by Daniels.

Burgess scored 13 in the second half and Daniels 12 as the Rams led by at least nine the rest of the way.

VCU made 10 of 24 shots from 3-point range while South Florida (5-3) made only 18 of 48 field goal attempts

Ron Anderson Jr. scored 15 points and Victor Rudd Jr. added 10 for the Bulls.
