Vanderbilt's Damian Jones plans to enter 2016 NBA Draft
Vanderbilt's season doesn't begin until Nov. 13, but Damian Jones has already decided it will be his final one with the Commodores.
The First Team All-SEC Preseason selection told reporters at SEC Media Day on Wednesday that he plans to enter the 2016 NBA Draft.
“This is my last go-around,” Jones said. “But all that means is that I want to give it all I’ve got. I want to push this team and get to that next step while I’m here.”
The 7-foot-1 center averaged 14.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game last season as a sophomore. He is projected as the No. 16 overall pick in DraftExpress.com's 2016 mock draft.
Vanderbilt was picked to finish second in the SEC on Wednesday by the media. The Commodores open the season against Austin Peay at home.
