Kevin Van Wijk scored 23 points and Valparaiso knocked off a top team in the Horizon League for the second straight game, beating Cleveland State 72-66 Sunday.

Coming off a 76-62 win Friday night over a Youngstown State team that had been tied for the league lead, the Crusaders completed the sweep by shooting 60 percent from the field Sunday against Cleveland State (15-4, 5-2).

Van Wijk was 10 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 6 on 3-point attempts, for the Crusaders (12-7, 5-2). Ryan Broekhoff added 14 points and six assists, Jay Harris scored 12 points, and Matt Kenney had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Tim Kamczyc had 18 points, Trevon Harmon 13 and Jeremy Montgomery 11 for Cleveland State.

The Vikings trailed 45-34 before going on a 21-6 run that gave them a 55-51 lead with 8 minutes left. But the Crusaders outscored Cleveland State 21-11 the rest of the way.
