Randy Culpepper scored 26 points to lead UTEP to a 66-54 victory over Tulsa in the Conference USA semifinals on Friday.
The third-seeded Miners (28-5) went on an 18-5 run in the second half to take the lead for good.
UTEP will face the winner of the East Carolina-Memphis matchup in the conference championship Saturday.
Justin Hurtt led the No. 2 seed Golden Hurricane (19-13) with 17 points while Joe Richard scored 11 and Jordan Clarkson 10.

The Miners made just 9 of 20 shots from the field in the first half but hit 66.7 percent in the second to outscore Tulsa 39-26.
Christian Polk finished with 13 points for the Miners.
