Utah Valley gets past UMKC 79-70

OREM, Utah (AP) Konner Frey and Marcel Davis each scored 18 points and Dayon Goodman added 17 to lead Utah Valley past UMKC 79-70 on Saturday night.

Frey collected 12 rebounds, and Utah Valley (12-15, 6-6 Western Athletic Conference) outscored UMKC 25-15 from the free throw line.

Dashawn King scored 18 points for UMKC (10-17, 3-9) and Darnell Tillman and LaVell Boyd each had 12.

King's three-point play put the Kangaroos up 50-43 with 13:46 to play before the Wolverines went on 15-7 run and took a 58-57 lead when Frey split two free throws. Tillman split two free throws as well, and then Utah Valley went on a 7-0 run on Goodman's layup, Frey's 3-pointer and a pair of free throws by Jaden Jackson, who scored 15 points.

Goodman made another layup with 2:31 left to make it 73-61.
