UT-Martin defeats SE Missouri 79-70

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) Myles Taylor and Marshun Newell both scored 18 points and Tennessee-Martin broke a four-game losing streak by defeating Southeast Missouri 79-70 Wednesday night.

Dee Oldham added 13 points and Mike Liabo 12 for the Skyhawks (8-19, 3-9 Ohio Valley). The Skyhawks hit 8 of 19 3-point attempts to finish at 42.1 percent, better than their overall percentage of 41.9.

Southeast Missouri lost its top scorer, Jarekious Bradley, who injured his right knee early in the first half and did not return. He had two points.

Tyler Stone led the Redhawks (13-13, 4-8) with 21 points and 16 rebounds. He recorded his 10th double-double this season and the 22nd of his career. Josh Langford added 14 points.

UT Martin led by three at halftime. The game featured eight ties and six lead changes in the second half. The Redhawks closed within 70-68 with 2 minutes left before the Skyhawks edged away.
