UT Arlington beats North Texas 77-61

DENTON, Texas (AP) Kevin Hervey scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the University of Texas Arlington notched its fifth-straight win, beating North Texas 77-61 on Saturday.

It was Hervey's third double-double this season for the Mavericks (6-3). Jorge Bilbao added 14 point and Jalen Jones and Kaelon Wilson had 10 apiece.

Wilson and Hervey combined for six points in just over a minute early in the second period to give the Mavericks a 47-34 lead with 14:46 to play. They maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the rest of the game and took a 23-point lead, 67-44, on a Wilson layup with 7:51 left.

Hervey sank a 3-pointer and a jumper back-to-back to give the Mavericks a 25-10 advantage with 8:51 left in the first period. They led 34-30 at the break.

Jeremy Combs scored 21 points with 12 rebounds for the Mean Green (4-4).
