UNC Basketball: Recruiting Roundup for September

With basketball season just weeks away, here’s where the Tar Heels stand recruiting-wise

Our first edition of Recruiting Roundup in 2016 includes a handful of players from the classes of 2017, 2018 and 2019. Some are uncommitted and others have already verbally given their pledge to attend UNC.

Each week we will provide an update on the latest from the prospects as well as updates on other ACC teams. With college basketball season knocking on the door, the recruiting circuit is just heating up.

Kevin Knox

Bio

    Kevin Knox is a highly sought after recruit in the class of 2017. The five-star small forward is being recruited by over 20 schools including Alabama, Arizona, Duke, Florida State and North Carolina. Ranked eighth in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

    Prediction: Duke

    Brandon Huffman

    Bio

      Brandon Huffman is new on the scene. He was recently offered a scholarship by UNC head coach Roy Williams.

      The Tar Heels are looking to sign three bigs in the class of 2017 and Huffman could fill one of those spots. A three-star recruit from Raleigh, North Carolina, Huffman also holds offers from Baylor, Connecticut, Georgia and Georgia Tech.

      Prediction: North Carolina

      Rechon Black (Committed to UNC)

      Bio

        Rechon Black is a fringe five-star combo guard in the class of 2018. He’s got great size for his position, particularly if he’s playing point guard. He’s a terrific ball-handler and can distribute to teammates effectively.

        Prediction: Verbally Committed to North Carolina

        Coby White

        Bio

          Coby White is a talented point guard in the class of 2018. He’s athletic and has great height for the point guard position. He’s a quick, shifty player with the ability to start and stop on a dime. His effectiveness as a distributor or shooter are equally potent.

          Prediction: Verbally committed to North Carolina

          Wendell Moore

          Bio

            Wendell Moore holds one of the two scholarship offers that UNC has extended to the class of 2019. He’s a five-star small forward being recruited by Duke, Georgia, North Carolina and NC State among others.

            Moore is set to make a visit to the University of North Carolina on the weekend of September 24th.

            Prediction: Duke
