UNC Asheville routs D-II Johnson & Wales 103-36

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) Dylan Smith made six 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead UNC Asheville to a 103-36 rout of Division-II member Johnson and Wales (North Carolina) on Saturday.

Sam Hughes and John Cannon scored 15 points apiece for UNC Asheville (4-4). David Robertson added 11 points and Ahmad Thomas chipped in 10. Kevin Vannatta had seven points and seven assists.

Nicholas Crawford scored seven points to lead Johnson & Wales, which plays at Bob Jones University on Dec. 8.

UNC Asheville has won consecutive games since losing to Middle Tennessee 63-61 on Nov. 27. The Bulldogs play their next two games at home after six of seven on the road, including the Great Alaska Shootout. The Bulldogs play at Georgetown on Dec. 19.


Johnson & Wales is in its sixth basketball season.
