Matt Dickey scored 19 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 night from beyond the arc, to lead UNC Asheville in an 89-48 rout of Division II Brevard College on Monday night.
Keith Hornsby added 12 points and Jon Nwannunu had 10 for the Bulldogs (2-2), who shot 62.3 percent (33 of 53) from the floor compared to just a 38.5 mark (20 of 52) for the Tornados.
J.P. Primm opened the game with a 3-pointer and the rout was on for UNC Asheville, which started on a 6-0 run, led by 17 points midway through the first half and took a 48-22 advantage into the locker room. The Bulldogs outscored the Tornados 41-26 in the second half to seal it.
Brevard College (0-6) only had one player in double figures, as Gaither Hendrix scored 16 points.
