UNC Asheville 88, Radford 62
Matt Dickey scored 22 points as UNC Asheville defeated Radford 88-62 Saturday to clinch the No. 1 seed for the Big South Conference tournament.
After Radford took an early 10-4 lead, a layup by Dickey started a 21-4 run for the Bulldogs (19-7, 14-1) that gave them a 25-14 lead with 9:49 remaining in the first half.
The Bulldogs increased their lead to 42-24 at halftime, then started the second half with an 8-2 run for a 50-26 advantage.
Jaron Lane finished with 14 points and J.P. Primm 13 for UNC Asheville, which has won six games in a row and 13 of its last 14. Dickey was 10 for 10 on free throws, after making 29 of 32 in his previous three games.
Javonte Green scored 12 points for Radford (5-22, 2-13), and Johnathan Edwards and Kyle Noreen had 11 each.
