UMKC overcomes late rally to beat Lincoln (Mo) 73-72

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Martez Harrison had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Missouri-Kansas City held off Division II Lincoln (Mo.) 73-72 Wednesday night.
Dashawn King added 15 points, going 6 for 6 from the field and 3 for 3 from the free-throw line for Missouri-Kansas City (3-2).
Harrison's layup with 7:21 remaining put the Kangaroos up 60-49, but the Blue Tigers scrambled back with a 17-7 run to cut the lead to 67-66 on Anthony Virdue's jumper with 1:42 to play.
LaVell Boyd hit a 3 for UMKC with 1:18 left to push the Kangaroos' lead to 70-66. Virdue hit another 3 with five seconds remaining but the Blue Tigers ran out of time.
Virdue led Lincoln with 29 points, shooting 6 for 11 from 3-point range. He scored 10 of Lincoln's final 13 points. Jaylon Smith added 22 points for Lincoln but was 8 for 23 from the field.
