UMKC beats Div. II Rockhurst 71-60

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Martez Harrison scored 16 points with five assists as the University of Missouri-Kansas City beat Division II Rockhurst 71-60 on Saturday afternoon.
LaVell Boyd added 14 points and four rebounds for the Kangaroos (7-4). Dashawn King had 11 points with three assists and five rebounds and Darius Austin had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals.
Rockhurst surged to a 20-7 lead midway through the first half and had a 34-25 advantage at the break.
UMKC was down by 15, 39-25, early in the second half and trailed 43-41 midway when Austin and Aleer Leek combined for three 3-pointers to put the Kangaroos on top, 50-45 with 8:23 to play. King dunked and then hit two free throws to extend UMKC's lead to 69-56 with 29 seconds left.
Malachi Nix and Austin Levan had 14 points apiece for the Hawks.
