Jay Couisnard scored 19 points and Spencer Johnson stayed hot with 16 points and 15 rebounds as UMKC defeated Utah Valley 70-63 on Wednesday night.
Johnson is averaging 18 points and 12.3 rebounds in his last three games.
Bakari Lewis added 11 points for the Kangaroos (5-3).
Isiah Williams scored 24 points Jordan Swarbrick 10 for Utah Valley (4-4), which had a four-game winning streak end.

UMKC never trailed after Couisnard's 3-pointer gave it a 34-33 lead with 2:03 remaining in the first half. Utah Valley closed to within 63-60 with 1:15 to play, but a Couisnard layup and two Lewis free throws gave the Kangaroos a cushion in the final minute.
