UMBC beats Binghamton 73-61 on the road

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) Quentin Jones scored 16 points and Chase Plummer had 15 as Maryland-Baltimore County snapped a 15-game road losing streak, beating Binghamton 73-61 on Wednesday night for its first road win in nearly a year.

Brett Roseboro and Rodney Elliott each added 14 points for UMBC (7-14, 3-5 America East Conference), which shot 50 percent from the field. Roseboro also grabbed 12 rebounds and Elliott had 11.

Leading by 5 with less than 12 minutes to play, UMBC went on a 12-3 run to extend its lead to 61-47 with 6:24 left. Binghamton (4-17, 1-7) got no closer than within seven points the rest of the game.

Nick Madray had 20 points for Binghamton, which shot just 35.3 percent from the field and was 4 of 20 from beyond the arc. The Bearcats lost their sixth straight game.
