UK fans may be losing Davis' unibrow

Monday night will be big for college basketball. Kentucky coach John Calipari could win his first national championship. Kansas coach Bill Self could win his second in five years. And a generation of fans will say goodbye to the most famous overgrowth in the game's history.

Kentucky star Anthony Davis' unibrow has been celebrated on T-shirts, on frosted sugar cookies and even on the chest of a man with perhaps a bit too much creativity for his own good.

Kentucky's Wildcat mascot has adopted the merged-eyebrow look. Kids in the French Quarter have worn fake mustaches on their foreheads. Even Davis' mother, Eranier Davis, wore a unibrow mask to the Southeastern Conference tournament and a unibrow rendered in what appeared to be eyebrow pencil to Saturday's 69-61 win over Louisville.

Not since former Gonzaga star Adam Morrison's mustache became a similar cult hit in the mid-2000s has facial hair so enchanted the college hoops-viewing public.

Davis himself has been a good sport about the notoriety his most distinctive feature has received, grinning as fans stop him to "bow to the brow."

Davis' twin sister, Antoinette, said she's been taken aback by the attention around her brother in general. People visit the clothing store where she works and ask to take photos with her. "It's crazy," she said.

With Davis expected to enter June's NBA Draft, Monday probably will mark the brow's last appearance on a college court.
