UCF 79, Louisiana-Lafayette 58

Keith Clanton scored 28 points and Central Florida defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 79-58 on Wednesday night to remain one of the nation's 14 undefeated teams.

Dwight McCombs added 13 points and nine rebounds as the Knights improved to 9-0, continuing their best start since moving to Division I in 1984.

UCF led 45-37 midway through the second half before blowing the game open on a 13-0 run.

Clanton had a driving layup and consecutive 3-pointers, while fellow sophomore Marcus Jordan also hit a 3 during the spurt.

Jordan, son of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, scored seven points. It marked the first time this season he failed to reach double digits.

Louisiana-Lafayette (1-8), which played without two starters, was led by Scottie Farrington with 12 points and David Perez with 11.
