UC Santa Barbara races past CS Northridge in 74-61 win

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) Michael Bryson scored 19 points and had six rebounds as UC Santa Barbara controlled the second half to defeat Cal State Northridge 74-61 Saturday night.

The win snaps a two-game losing streak for UC Santa Barbara (8-10, 2-3 Big West).

CS Northridge (7-13, 2-4) led 32-31 at intermission, but after the break the Gauchos used a 14-0 run just four minutes into the second half to seize control.

Bryson hit a 3 and a jumper, Sam Beeler had a dunk and a layup, Maxwell Kupchak hit a 3 and Gabe Vincent's dunk made the score 45-32 and the Matadors never recovered.

Vincent finished with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, Beeler had 12 points and John Green added nine points and six rebounds.

Kendall Smith had 20 points and Jerron Wilbut finished with 11 for the Matadors.
