Phil Martin scored 29 points Saturday night and UC Riverside held on to beat Pacific 64-57.

The Highlanders (7-8, 1-1 Big West) led 25-22 at halftime and went up by as many as 13 points before Pacific (4-9, 0-2) rallied. Travis Fulton's three-point play with 1:10 left got the Tigers within 59-57. But Pacific didn't score again.

Kareem Nitoto added 14 points and Robert Smith had nine assists and six rebounds for UC Riverside, which shot 54 percent from the field while Pacific made 39 percent of its shots.

Fulton and Trevin Harris led the Tigers with 13 points apiece. Ross Rivera had 10 points, eight at the free-throw line, for Pacific.
