UAB routs Southern Miss 84-60

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) C.J. Washington scored 21 points and Chad Frazier added 20 points and 10 assists as UAB snapped Southern Miss' seven-game winning streak with an 84-60 rout on Thursday night.

The Blazers (15-9, 4-6 Conference USA) finished the first half on a 10-2 run to take a 41-29 lead into the break and never let Southern Miss (21-4, 8-2) get within single digits for the rest of the game.

Rod Rucker added 13 points and Denzell Watts had 11 for UAB, which shot 53.3 percent from the field, was 11 of 23 from 3-point range and snapped a three-game losing streak. Washington went 4-of-8 from beyond the arc while Frazier went 4-of-9.

Michael Craig led Southern Miss with 14 points. The Golden Eagles shot just 36.8 percent from the field and went 2 of 16 from 3-point range.
