Tulsa pulls away from East Carolina to win 76-58
TULSA, Okla. (AP) James Woodard scored 21 points to lead Tulsa to a 76-58 win over East Carolina on Thursday.
Shaquille Harrison added 11 points and Stevie Repichowski and Brandon Swannegan came off the bench to add 13 and 10 respectively, for the Golden Hurricanes (12-12, 7-3 Conference USA).
Woodard had seven rebounds as Tulsa dominated the boards 41-26.
Paris Roberts-Campbell had 17 to lead the Pirates (13-12, 2-8). Akeem Richmond added 17 and Caleb White 10.
Tulsa shot 50 percent in the first half, scoring the last four points to lead 33-29.
East Carolina took a 45-44 lead with 11:48 to go when Repichowski sparked a 7-0 burst with a layup and a 3-pointer. Woodard then scored eight straight points to open a 10-run for a 70-53 lead with 3:07 to go. He made a layup, a 3 and three free throws on consecutive possessions.
