Tulsa goes inside to top Memphis, 73-55

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Shaquille Harrison and James Woodard combined to score 34 points as Tulsa turned away Memphis 73-55 to remain undefeated in American Athletic Conference play Wednesday night.

Tulsa, now riding an eight-game winning streak, attacked the basket all night, scoring seven of its 11 first-half field goals on layups and dunks to take a 30-23 advantage at the break. The Golden Hurricane added eight more layups and two more dunks in the second half.

Harrison scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had six assists and four steals for Tulsa (13-5, 6-0). Woodard added 16 points, and Rashad Smith had 14 and seven boards.

Avery Woodson scored 15 points to lead Memphis (11-7, 4-3), with Austin Nichols adding 12 points.

The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Tigers while Tulsa now has bettered the 2009-10 team's 5-0 start to the conference season.
