Justin Hurtt scored 22 points and Tulsa beat Rice for the ninth straight time, 67-57 Wednesday night.
Jordan Clarkson added 12 points for the Golden Hurricane (17-12, 10-5 Conference USA), who pulled away for good with an 8-0 run midway through the second half.
Lucas Kuipers led the Owls (12-17, 4-11) with 14 points and Tamir Jackson had 13.
Tied at 44 with 12:48 to play, Tulsa scored eight straight points to take the lead then held on to win for the fourth time in five games.

Rice cut the gap to 54-51 with 7:06 to play before the Hurricane ended the threat with another 8-0 run.
Tulsa limited the Owls to 31.7 percent shooting and outrebounded them 45-32.
