Bryson Pope scored 16 points to lead five Tulsa players in double figures in a 65-61 Conference USA victory over Tulane on Saturday.
Pope got 10 of his points in the first half, when the Golden Hurricane (10-9, 3-2) took a 34-25 lead.
The Green Wave (12-6, 2-3) led for just 2 seconds in the first half and never in the second, but they cut Tulsa's lead to 59-58 with 53 seconds remaining on a 3-pointer by Kris Richard.
Pope, Jordan Clarkson and Justin Hurtt each hit two free throws in the final 36 seconds to secure Tulsa's victory.
Hurtt and Clarkson finished with 11 points each, and Steven Idlett and Scottie Haralson scored 10 each for the Golden Hurricane.
Kendall Timmons led the Green Wave with 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Richard's 15 points - 11 in the second half - gave the senior guard 1,002 for his career.
