Texas-Pan American beats UMKC 68-59

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) Javorn Farrell scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed six rebounds as Texas-Pan American defeated Missouri-Kansas City 68-59 Saturday night.

Shaquille Boga had 11 points for the Broncs (8-19, 4-8 Western Athletic Conference). Josh Cleveland scored 10 points and Shaquille Hines chipped in with nine.

The Broncs hit 53.1 percent from the field and outrebounded the Kangaroos 35-27.

UMKC led early in the first period but fell behind midway as the Broncs went on to lead 38-29 at the break. The Kangaroos went scoreless for the first five minutes of the second half but managed to keep pace midway with 3-pointers from Frank Williams, Jr., John Burke and Trinity Hall. With the Broncs leading 63-59 and 30 seconds left to play, Hines and Cleveland combined for 5 of 6 from the line to seal the win.

Fred Chatmon scored 10 points with 11 rebounds for the Kangaroos (7-17, 4-7).
