Texas-Arlington beats Houston Baptist 87-69

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Jamel Outler tied a career high with 26 points and Texas-Arlington made 13 of 21 from 3-point range on Saturday night to beat Houston Baptist 87-69.

With only eight 3-point attempts, Outler set a personal single-game mark with seven 3-pointers and moved to eighth on the program's career list with 134.

Arlington (3-1) made 12 of its first 15 shots to open the game with a 33-10 lead. Outler was 4 of 4 from long range during that stretch and the Mavericks were 5 of 7.

Drew Charles and Lonnie McClanahan had 12 points each, and Kaelon Wilson added 10.

Houston Baptist (1-2) trailed 44-26 at the break and never cut the deficit closer than 16 points in the second half.

Colter Lasher led the Huskies with 13 points. Reveal Chukwujekwu and Jourdan Stickler added 11 apiece.
