Karol Gruszecki scored a career-high 18 points and Jordan Reves had a double-double to help Texas-Arlington beat Houston Baptist 81-47 Thursday night.

Gruszecki was 5 of 7 from the field. Reves had 10 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Cameron Catlett had 13 points, and Kevin Butler had 11 points and four steals. Brandon Edwards had 10 rebounds for the Mavericks (5-2).

Texas-Arlington opened with a 15-0 run, building its lead to 47-21 at halftime and never looking back. The Mavericks led by as many as 38 three times over the last seven minutes. The 34-point spread was the biggest since Texas-Arlington's 48-point blowout (96-48) against Nicholls on March 7. The Mavericks had 19 steals and scored 30 points off Houston Baptist turnovers.

James Harper led the Huskies with eight points. Marcus Davis and Caleb Crayton had five rebounds apiece.

The Huskies (3-6) have lost five consecutive games.
