Kevin Palmer scored 15 points and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi held off a late charge by Texas A&M-International for a 55-52 victory Wednesday night. The Islanders (4-2) led by 12 points with 5:20 remaining but scored only two points the rest of the way. The Dustdevils (1-4) had the ball under their own basket with 2 seconds to go but threw the ball away on the inbounds pass and time ran out. Bernard Burrell scored 15 points and Luis Gomez 13 for Texas A&M-International, an NCAA Division-II school. Corpus Christi led 35-23 at halftime but shot only 7 for 22 (31.8 percent) in the second half as it watched its lead evaporate. The Dustdevils rallied by shooting 11 for 23 after intermission, including 4 for 8 from 3-point range.
