Tennessee Tech hands Belmont first conference loss 89-79

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Torrance Rowe scored 26 points, Hakeem Rogers added 20 more and Tennessee Tech rolled to an 89-79 win over Belmont on Saturday night to remain undefeated on its home court this season.

Ryan Martin contributed 18 points while grabbing 13 rebounds for Tennessee Tech (16-7, 8-2 Ohio Valley Conference) and Mason Ramsey had 10 points.

The Golden Eagles hit 29 of 61 from the field and forced 18 turnovers to hand Belmont (16-7, 8-1) its first conference loss of the season.

Tech edged into the lead 65-64 midway through the second half with a bucket from Rogers to cap a 10-0 burst and hung on from there.

Belmont stayed close but went cold in the final 1:25, missing all eight of its shots from the field while Tech padded the lead with 7-for-9 shooting from the line.

Taylor Barnette's 14 points led five Belmont players in double figures.
