Amric Fields scored 18 points Wednesday night, including a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 1:31 to play, and TCU defeated Rice 78-74.

The Horned Frogs (9-5) trailed 69-63 with 5:10 to play, but scored the next nine points on 3-pointers by Hank Thorns, Nate Butler and Fields to take a 72-69 lead. Fields and Thorns added two free throws each to make it 76-69 with 41 seconds to play.

Kyan Anderson scored 13 points and J.R. Cadot and Adrick McKinney scored 10 apiece for TCU.

Arsalan Kazemi had 17 points and 14 rebounds for Rice (9-6). Dylan Ennis led the Owls with 18 points, but just one came after halftime. Connor Frizzelle scored 14 and Tamir Jackson added 13 points.

Rice led 20-10 in the first half but the Horned Frogs came back to take a 33-28 lead at the break, with Fields just beating the buzzer with a 3-pointer.
