Syracuse dominates Florida State 85-72

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) Michael Gbinije scored 22 points, Malachi Richardson 17 and four Syracuse players scored in double figures as the Orange rode a dominating second half to defeat Florida State 85-72 on Thursday night.

Tyler Lydon chipped in with 15 and Trevor Cooney 10 for the Orange (17-8, 7-5 ACC), who won their fourth straight and seventh in their last eight.

Devon Bookert led Florida State (16-8, 6-6) with 15 points. Malik Beasley had 14 and Dwayne Bacon 11. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak.

Syracuse outscored Florida State 43-27 in the second half on the strength of 71 percent shooting. The Orange hit 15 of 21 from the field, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range. The Seminoles made just 9 of 26 from the field in the second half and only 2 of 10 from the 3.

For the game, Syracuse hit 62 percent from the field and 8 of 17 from beyond the arc.
