Dave Coley scored seven of his 13 points in the final three and a half minutes for Stony Brook, and Marist missed a pair of 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds as the Seawolves pulled out a 60-57, season-opening victory Friday night.

Coley hit a pair of free throws to leapfrog Stony Brook to a 53-52 lead with 3:25 to play, and later hit a 3-pointer to extend that advantage. Then, with the Seawolves clinging to a 58-57 advantage with 22 seconds left, Coley hit two more free throws to make it a three-point game.

Coley also pulled down six rebounds.

Tommy Brenton recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and also handed out a team-high five assists. Anthony Jackson also had 13 points.

Jay Bowie paced the Red Foxes with 16 points, while Adam Kemp posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.
