Dallis Joyner scored 12 points and Stony Brook defeated Maine 55-48 Sunday for its second America East regular season championship in three years.

The Seahawks (20-8, 14-2) led 30-24 at halftime, outscoring Maine 12-2 on second-chance points. The Seawolves grabbed seven of their 11 offensive rebounds, and went up by as many as 15 in the first 20 minutes.

After shooting 40.6 percent (13 of 32) in the first half Stony Brook made just 31.8 percent from the field (7 of 22) in the second, allowing the Black Bears (12-16, 6-10) to get back in it.

Maine pulled within three, 51-48, on Kilian Cato's 3-pointer with 1:05 left. The Seawolves then made 4 of 6 from the line, while Maine went 0 for 3 from the field in the final minute.

Alasdair Fraser had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Justin Edwards chipped in 12 points for the Black Bears.
