Villanova senior guard Corey Stokes returned after a three-game absence because of a turf toe injury.
Stokes started Monday night's game against No. 17 Syracuse for the 15th-ranked Wildcats.
He is the team's second-leading scorer (14.6 average), but it was his 3-point shooting that extended defenses that was missed.
Stokes is 68 for 164 from 3-point range (41.5 percent) and he is third in the nation in free throw percentage at 93.5 (72 of 77).
