Stephen F. Austin routs Nicholls State, 93-64

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) Stephen F. Austin roared to a 55-17 lead after 20 minutes, then cruised to its 18th consecutive win and 10th straight Southland Conference victory, routing Nicholls State 93-64 Thursday night.

The Lumberjacks stormed out to a 26-5 lead after 10 minutes of play and eventually led by as many as 41 points.

Stephen F. Austin (21-2, 10-0 Southland) shot 56.5 percent from the field (35 of 62) and had nine Lumberjacks score at least a point. The Stephen F. Austin bench outscored Nicholls State 39-19.

Thomas Walkup scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half on 7-for-10 shooting from the field. Nikola Gajic scored 14 points, Desmond Haymon 12 and Jacob Parker and Connor Brooks 11 each.

The Lumberjacks held a 29-17 advantage in points off turnovers - forcing 21.

Jeremy Smith and Dantrell Thomas scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, to lead Nicholls State (10-9, 7-3).
