Stephen F Austin cruises against Northwestern State, 83-72

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) Thomas Walkup finished with 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead Stephen F. Austin to an 83-72 win over Northwestern State on Monday night.

Walkup finished 13-of-17 from the field and it was his second straight game with at least 30-plus points and 10-plus rebounds.

Clide Geffrard scored 17 points and Demetrious Floyd added 13 and eight assists for the Lumberjacks (17-5, 10-0 Southland Conference), who have won 25 straight games at home and 17 consecutive conference games.

Zeek Woodley led Northwestern State with 25 points. Sabri Thompson had 17 points and Ishmael Lane had 16 for the Demons (6-15, 3-8).

Stephen F. Austin had a 20-8 scoring stretch in the first half and led 43-33 at the break. The Lumberjacks maintained their double-digit lead for much of the second half, extending it to 68-51 on a Geffrard layup, and a game high 18 (76-58) on a Walkup lay-in.
