Jeron Belin scored a career-high 23 points to lead St. Peter's to a 65-62 victory over Long Island on Saturday.

The Peacocks (2-3) trailed 32-19 with 2:10 left to play in the opening half before going on a 7-0 run to pull within 32-26. The run ended on a 3-pointer from Wesley Jenkins as time expired.

St. Peter's scored nine of the first 10 second-half points to take a 35-33 lead with 16:29 on the clock and never trailed again.

With the score tied 40-40, the Peacocks reeled off 12 straight to take a 52-40 lead on another 3 from Jenkins with 9:41 to go.

The Blackbirds (4-1) pulled within 63-62 with 14 seconds remaining on a 3-pointer from Michael Culpo - who led Long Island with 18 points.

Culpo missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with 2 seconds to go.

St. Peter's held a 26-16 scoring advantage in the paint and outscored the Blackbirds 39-30 in the second half.
