St. Francis (NY) thrashes St. Francis (PA) 73-44

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) Ben Mockford scored 16 points and St. Francis (NY) broke out to a big first half lead, beating St. Francis (PA) 73-44 on Thursday.

The Terriers of St. Francis (NY) outscored the Red Flash of St. Francis (PA) by 23 points in the first half to lead 42-19 lead at the break. The Red Flash managed only a single field goal over a 10 minute stretch in the first period as the Terriers pulled away and went to the bench early giving the starters a rest.

The Terriers (16-12, 7-6 Northeast) bench scored 40 points and their tenacious defense shut down Red Flash (8-18, 6-7) scoring opportunities, holding them to just 33 percent shooting. The Terriers dominated the boards 38-24 and shot 54 percent from the field.

Earl Brown led Red Flash in scoring with 12 points.
