St. Francis (NY) 79, Mount St. Mary's 60

Stefan Perunicic scored 21 points and St. Francis (N.Y.) opened an 18-point halftime lead en route to defeating Mount St. Mary's 79-60 in a Northeast Conference game Saturday night.

The senior swingman got 13 of his points in the first half, when the Terriers (9-10, 6-2) shot 51.9 percent (14 of 27) to Mount St. Mary's 29.2 percent (7 of 24) and led 35-17 at the break.

St. Francis scored 10 first-half points off nine Mount St. Mary's turnovers, while the Mountaineers (4-15, 2-6) got none off seven by the Terriers.

In the second half, 13 St. Francis turnovers led to 20 Mount St. Mary's points, but the Terriers kept control by continuing to shoot well, making 60 percent (12 of 20) after halftime.

Brent Jones added 13 points and six assists for St. Francis, and P.J. Santavenere scored 11.

Julian Norfleet led Mount St. Mary's with 14 points.
