St. Bonaventure knocks off Buffalo 72-63
SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) Dion Wright scored 19 points and Youssou Ndoye added 17 points and 13 rebounds as St. Bonaventure built a 16-point first-half lead en route to a 72-63 win over Buffalo Wednesday night.
Justin Moss got to the basket for a layup early in the first half to pull the Bulls within four, 9-5, but the Bonnies (5-1) answered with a 15-4 run that earned them a 24-9 lead. Andell Cumberbatch drilled a 3-pointer with 3:15 left to complete St. Bonaventure's first-half scoring and a 34-18 lead.
Buffalo (4-2) finished the first half with just six field goals, but clawed back with a 14-3 run early in the second half to cut its deficit to nine points.
St. Bonaventure shot 46.6 percent from the floor (27 of 58) and 5 of 14 from three-point range.
Shannon Evans poured in 21 points to lead Buffalo. Moss finished with 14 rebounds.
