St. Bonaventure holds off Buffalo 76-74

Ogo Adegboye had 24 points and 10 assists to help St. Bonaventure hold off Buffalo 76-74 on Saturday night.

The Bonnies (4-2) led 44-43 at halftime and by as many as 19, at 63-44, with 13:09 to go.

Still trailing 72-59 with 5:53 left, the Bulls (4-3) began chipping away at the lead, finally tying the game at 74 with 32 seconds to play on a Byron Mulkey layup.

It was Buffalo's first tie since 2-2, but it didn't last.

Andrew Nicholson hit a jumper, assisted by Adegboye, with 7 seconds left. Five seconds later, Mulkey missed a jumper and Nicholson rebounded to clinch the win.

Nicholson also had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Michael Davenport had 13 points and Da'Quan Cook added 12.

Mulkey led the Bulls with 21 points, Zach Filzen had 18 and Titus Robinson 12.

The schools were playing for the first time since Jan. 19, 1999.
