Andrew Nicholson scored 29 points on 11-of-13 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds as St. Bonaventure defeated Norfolk State 98-71 Saturday night in the Basketball Travelers Classic. Chris Matthews scored 21 points and Michael Davenport 15 for the Bonnies (4-1), while Jonathan Hall had 13 points and seven assists. Matthews was 6 of 13 from 3-point range and overall, St. Bonaventure shot 67 percent from the field. However, the Bonnies only made 55 percent of their free-throw attempts (16 of 29). Rob Hampton led the Spartans (1-4) with 24 points and Michael Deloach scored 16. Nicholson scored 23 of his points in the first half as St. Bonaventure built a 44-31 lead at intermission.
