U.S. House Speaker John Boehner has attended a Xavier basketball game and received a jacket from his alma mater.
Boehner sat in a private box with the Rev. Michael Graham, president of the Jesuit college, during an 88-77 win over Atlantic 10 rival Temple on Saturday. Boehner grew up in suburban Cincinnati and got his bachelor's degree in business from Xavier in 1977.
During a timeout, Graham presented Boehner with a Xavier jacket that features his name and graduation year. Boehner got a standing ovation from the capacity crowd of 10,250. He also was interviewed by the Xavier broadcasters at halftime.
