South Florida beats Memphis 80-71 for 1st league home win

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Nehemias Morillo scored 19 points, Jahmal McMurray had 17 and South Florida won its first home game in league play this season in an 80-71 victory over Memphis on Saturday.

Memphis was up 51-50 with 8:48 left before Chris Perry, Morillo and McMurray sparked South Florida's 9-2 run for a 59-53 lead. An 11-2 run, with six points by Morillo and five from McMurray, extended the Bulls' advantage to 71-59.

Perry finished with 16 points and Angel Nunez added 13 for South Florida (7-21, 4-11 American Athletic Conference). Ruben Guerrero had five points, 11 rebounds and a career-high seven blocks for the Bulls.

Avery Woodson and Dedric Lawson each scored 17 points for Memphis (15-12, 6-8). Lawson grabbed 10 rebounds for his fifth straight double-double - tied for the 14th longest streak in program history. Woodson made five of the Tigers' seven 3-pointers.
