Mike Mercer scored 19 points to lead four South Florida players in double figures as the Bulls defeated San Diego, 69-60, in the Holiday Hoops Classic on Sunday.
Dominique Jones scored 18, Jarrid Famous 14 and Chris Howard 11 for South Florida (10-2).
Devin Ginty led the Toreros (5-8) with 13 points. Brandon Johnson scored 12 and Roberto Mafra 11.
The game was tied at 51 with 8:40 to play when South Florida scored the next six points, four of them by Mercer. The Bulls, who shot 46 percent from the field, maintained the lead after that.
