Ron Anderson Jr. had 16 points to lead five South Florida players in double figures Saturday as the Bulls defeated Texas Tech 64-61 at the South Padre Island Invitational.

South Florida (4-3) trailed for most of the game but took a 60-59 lead on Anderson's layup with 2:04 remaining. From there, the Bulls hit 4 of 6 free-throw attempts while the Red Raiders (4-3) missed four 3-pointers and had a turnover in the closing minutes.

Shaun Noriega had 13 points, Jawanza Poland 12, and Augustus Gilchrist and Jarrid Famous 10 each for South Florida, which overcame 19 turnovers and 3 of 16 shooting from 3-point range.

John Roberson had 16 points and Mike Singletary 11 for Texas Tech, which shot just 35 percent from the field and was 4 of 18 on 3-point attempts. The Red Raiders led by as many as 10 points in the first half and were still ahead 50-43 with 8:12 left in the game.
