South Dakota edges Nebraska-Omaha 87-86

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) Trey Norris's free throw with 1 second left lifted South Dakota over Nebraska-Omaha 87-86 on Thursday.

Norris made 1 of 2 after being fouled by Marcus Tyus, just moments after Caleb Steffensmeier nailed a pair of 3-pointers to tie the game at 86 with 19 seconds left.

Tyler Flack led South Dakota (11-15, 5-6 Summit) with 21 points on 7 of 10 shooting. Adam Thoseby had 16, Casey Kasperbauer added 14 and Brandos Bos had 12 points. Norris finished with seven points.

Omaha was led by CJ Carter's 19, while Mike Rostampour added 18 points and 11 rebounds.

South Dakota led by 10 early in the first, but Omaha came right back and trailed by just three at intermission.

A 7-0 run put USD up nine with 6:31 left, but Steffensmeier's 3s inside 33 seconds evened things before Norris' winning free throw.
