Augustine Rubit scored 18 points, including the winning layup with 1.8 seconds left, as South Alabama edged Troy 68-66 Sunday night.

Rubit also grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds for his eighth double-double this season and blocked five shots.

Will Weathers' layup for Troy (7-13, 2-7 Sun Belt Conference) tied the game with 1:08 remaining. Freddie Goldstein missed a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left, but Wendell Wright grabbed the offensive rebound. After a timeout, South Alabama (11-9, 3-6) maintained possession until Rubit's layup.

The Jaguars led 45-27 at halftime, but the Trojans rallied to lead 59-57 after R.J. Scott's third 3-pointer in 2 1/2 minutes.

South Alabama's Antione Lundy had 18 points, including a three-point play for a 66-64 lead with 1:27 left.

The win was Ronnie Arrow's 200th as South Alabama's coach against 153 losses. He's 334-244 overall.

Troy's Emil Jones scored 13 points. Weathers and Justin Wright had 12 each.
