Siena has tabbed assistant Mitch Buonaguro to replace Fran
McCaffery.
According to sources, Buonaguro was chosen over
Northeastern’s Bill Coen and Jacksonville’s Cliff
Warren.
Buonaguro has worked under McCaffery, who recently left for
Iowa, at Siena and UNC-Greensboro.
Buonaguro was also the head coach at Fairfield from 1985-81
after spending eight years on Rollie Massimino’s staff at
Villanova.
